Solution for forbidden lands soon

Hyderabad: The crucial issue of Forbidden Lands is expected to be resolved at the next meeting of the Cabinet subcommittee formed to discuss how to resolve the various grievances on the Dharani portal.

The meeting will be held in consultation with Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar. The subcommittee has already looked at 34 different types of issues that people face. After studying each issue in detail, the committee identified 11 grievances.

The Cabinet subcommittee asked Revenue Ministry officials to find solutions to the 11 issues so that additional functionality can be included in the portal for people to transact without any hassle.

The subcommittee will likely finalize new features to be included in the portal, a one-stop destination for agricultural land transactions, at its meeting next week.

Since it has already instructed relevant officials to complete the exercise and sort out any technical issues, the subcommittee could finalize new features and submit them to the state government for review.

Officials said the main intention of introducing new features to the portal is to ensure buyers of agricultural properties complete transactions hassle-free. The new functionalities will be added to the existing functionalities.

Citizens can now conduct transactions relating to the sale, donation, partition, inheritance, mortgage, transfer and conversion of the Non-Agricultural Land Assessment Act (NALA), between others, through the portal.
