Ex-Forest Service investigator: Biden’s BLM candidate has colluded with eco-terrorists – can’t be trusted

Every president of the United States faces critical decisions. One of the most important is the appointment of people to serve in government. To be confirmed and effective, candidates must earn the trust of the American people. President Joe Biden’s candidate for Bureau of Land Management (BLM) violates that trust.

When it comes to impacting policies related to our public lands, the BLM director has broad authority. The director has the ability to make unilateral decisions about how land is used and managed. The BLM director also heads several thousand employees, including law enforcement officers, many of whom have devoted years of dedicated service to the Bureau.

For 28 years, I was one of those public servants. I served as a Federal Law Enforcement Officer in the USDA Forest Service as a Special Agent Criminal Investigator. Before that, I served our country in the army during the Vietnam War. I know firsthand the importance of the rule of law. Respect for the law must permeate all ranks of an organization, especially at the top.

Earlier this year, President Biden appointed Tracy Stone-Manning as director of the BLM and her controversial appointment now awaits a confirmation vote in the Senate. Senators should carefully consider Stone-Manning’s track record of criminal behavior and breaking the laws of our country before voting.

Throughout her adult life, Tracy Stone-Manning has shown contempt for law enforcement and associated with dangerous extremists.

It is now widely known that Stone-Manning collaborated with a group of eco-terrorists who planted trees in the Postwood Sale in Idaho in the spring of 1989. the trunk of a tree to sabotage the blade of a tree. ‘a lumberjack and his safety. She edited, typed, and posted a threat letter to the forest service on behalf of the prickers. I feel compelled to come forward because I was the agent investigating this crime and Stone-Manning’s involvement.

In 1993, Stone-Manning received a target letter from a federal grand jury after the girlfriend of one of the suspects reported to the FBI and identified those involved in the crime. Shortly after Stone-Manning found out she could be charged with a felony, she hired a lawyer, negotiated a deal with the federal prosecutor, and obtained immunity for her testimony against her friends. But just because she made a deal doesn’t mean she hasn’t violated federal crime laws. In this case, she raped several.

By typing the threat letter to the Forest Service, she was aiding and encouraging those who committed an offense against the United States. When she hid her knowledge of the crime for three years and intentionally obstructed during the investigation, she became an accomplice after the fact.

By not immediately reporting the crime or disclosing what she knew about the people involved, she hid a crime. When she planned to send the threat letter to the Forest Service, she became involved in a conspiracy against the United States. It was also a crime to send the letter through the US Postal Service.

The Senate should review the records of the grand jury investigation into these crimes. Senators are also expected to review the immunity agreement to determine the charges against Stone-Manning.

Some of Stone-Manning’s supporters claim she should be forgiven for the actions she committed decades ago. These same people forget the most recent crime committed by Stone-Manning by willfully falsify, hiding and covering up her past involvement in these crimes when she was questioned by the Senate.

Layer in the United States Senate is a crime. If she’s comfortable lying to the federal government – and the American people – on pain of perjury, how can we trust her to lead a powerful bureaucracy?

Throughout her adult life, Tracy Stone-Manning has consistently demonstrated her contempt for the laws of our land, laws designed to protect all of us. She has shown contempt for law enforcement and has joined forces with dangerous extremists.

Senators should consider the implications of confirming someone who violated multiple federal laws. Bureau of Land Management employees deserve honest leadership. The American people should have confidence that the person in charge of this agency will follow the law, even when the law may conflict with their personal beliefs. Tracy Stone-Manning is not that person.
