Durango City Council is seeking candidates to fill two vacancies on Multimodal and Natural Land Preservation Advisory Boards.

Applications will be accepted until 1 p.m. on October 1. Applicants can apply on the Durango website.

Short interviews will be scheduled with candidates in early October, according to a press release.

The Multimodal Advisory Board serves Durango by making recommendations on how to manage and operate multimodal transportation systems, including Durango Transit and bicycle and pedestrian services.

Work experience in the public health sector is required to be accepted for a position on the board of directors. The council meets at 4 p.m. on the third Wednesday of each month.

The Natural Lands Preservation Advisory Council oversees the acquisition, preservation, stewardship and use of Durango’s open spaces to enhance natural beauty and increase enjoyment, health and well-being. of its residents.

The council develops and implements the open space program, especially with regard to new developments and plots of land to be included in the program. The council also creates and refines open space management policies, oversees improvements to open space plots and nature trails.
